Does this entry make any sense to you? I can't tell if it is nonsense, copyvio or just in desparate need of cleanup. Stellertony 09:16, Nov 25, 2004 (UTC)

The article require a lot of clean-up and reorganization and re-writes. In case, it is possible for me, I shall surely try to do a part of this task.--Bhadani 5 July 2005 02:18 (UTC)

[edit] Important Chowk & Colony

Does anybody know what "Important Chowk" and "Important Colony" is supposed to mean?

Chowk is a Hindi word which means a intersection of two or more important street or road in the a town. It is common to see small market place around the Chowk and is sometimes a important landmark in small towns in northern India.

Colony in word when used in context of an Indian town is a small settlement area consisting or 50-100 houses. Usually it is constructed by a builder who purchases a big chunk of land and then constructs houses like Mithila co-operative colony developed on the land of darbhanga raj-user:Maheshwar Lal/ criticalcare 04/02/2007

[edit] Credibility of History

Please make the history more factual(With suitable citations). And please do away with the portion where it suggests its history dates back to mythology of Mahabharata and Ramayana. I do not want to hurt any feelings but please use sound evidences.

The above comment was added by an anonymous person who did not know that Ramayana explicitly mentions Mithila a number of times. Sita was a princess of Mithila. Darbhanga is the principal town of Mithila. Hence there is nothing wrong to associate this region with Ramayana. Sources are needed for debatable statements. Each and every statement in Wiki need not be sourced. There are persons who say Ramayana is merely a litereary work, lacking historical value. But even literary works have historical value, and regions like Mithila mentioned in ancient works actually existed (and exist even today). -VJha (talk) 04:17, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
