Daryn Jones

Daryn Jones (born January 3, 1978 in Victoria, British Columbia) is a Canadian comedian and television[1] and radio[2] personality. He and fellow comedian Mista Mo co-wrote and co-starred on the sketch comedy television show Buzz.[3] He is also a writer and an on-air correspondent for Rick Mercer Report.[4][5]

Jones started comedy by doing stand-up in comedy clubs at the age of 17,[4] later going to private theatre school. It was in Toronto that he began in television, and co-hosted the morning show contemporary hit radio station KISS 92 FM.

Since then, Jones has appeared on Talk TV's The Chatroom, Life Network's The Lofters, Talk TV's State of the Union, and he made multiple appearances on CTV's Open Mike with Mike Bullard. He hosted Laughing Matters and YTV's flagship weekday afternoon programming block The Zone. He has written for The One, Oro magazine, and the National Post. On March 21, 2006,[citation needed] he became a co-host of MTV Canada's MTV Live.[6]

Jones was a featured performer at the 2000 Canadian Comedy Awards,[citation needed] and received the 2001 Gemini Award for Best Writing in a Comedy Series for The Buzz.[5][7]

He has appeared in commercials for Blockbuster Video and Arby's. He also appeared in Degrassi: The Next Generation in the episode "The Ghost In The Machine- Part 1" as a guitar salesman.
