The mission of Darwin School is to work together with respect, fairness and spirit; to promote curiosity and lifelong learning in each child; and to provide the knowledge, skills and abilities so that each child will reach his or her potential in a variety of academic, physical, social and emotional domains.

• Darwin has 308 students enrolled from grades kindergarten to grade nine of which 14 are Provincially funded level 2 and level 3 students.
• Darwin has 23 teachers and 13.5 educational assistants.
• The Darwin catchment area consists of a mix of single family dwellings and multiple family (apartments) dwellings.
• Darwin has a before and after school daycare program run by the YMCA-YWCA.
• Darwin houses Industrial Arts and Human Ecology facilities that are used by the grades 7, 8 and 9 students at Darwin as well as students from other school in the Louis Riel School Division. These facilities consist of a woodworking shop, a graphics lab, a sewing lab and a foods lab.
