Career highlights

Darren Gaspar (born 20 May 1976) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League.

Number 1 draft pick in 1993, Gaspar debuted at the Sydney Swans in 1994 before moving to the Richmond Football Club in 1998. Although not a spectacular player, he had been a consistent performer in defence for the Tigers. Gaspar received his first All Australian selection after a consistent year 2000 and improved on this in 2001. In 2001 he won the Jack Dyer Medal as Richmond's Best and Fairest Player and also an All Australian selection.

He announced his retirement on the 4th May 2007. He will remain at the Richmond Football Club to help with the young defenders. However he has not been seen at the Richmond Football Club since his retirement.

He is the brother of fellow AFL players Travis Gaspar and Damien Gaspar. He is the part-owner of racehorse Roman Arch.
