Darren Braithwaite (born 1969-01-20) was a sprinter and member of various British and commonwealth track and field teams. He competed for Great Britain in the 1996 Summer Olympics.
In 1991 Braithwaite experienced one of the highlights of his career by establishing a new indoor world record in the rarely contested 4x200 metres relay event. On March 3 1991 in Glasgow, together with Linford Christie, John Regis and Ade Mafe, he realised a time of 1:22.11. This achievement hasn't been exceeded ever since.
That same year Braithwaite was a member of the British 4x100 metres relay team at the World Championships in Tokyo. The British team, consisting of Tony Jarrett, John Regis, Linford Christie and Darren Braithwaite came in third in 38.09, winning the bronze medal.
