Darren Bicknell
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Darren John Bicknell (born 24 June 1967) is an English former cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a slow left-arm bowler.
Born in Guildford, Darren is the brother of former England seam bowler Martin Bicknell. However, he struggled to have similar international impact in the 1990s, the selectors instead preferring players such as Jason Gallian and Mark Lathwell. Most of Bicknell's career was spent at Surrey, but recently he has enjoyed some time at Nottinghamshire.
Bicknell has made more than 80 half-centuries in his career, but in 2005, he has often struggled in converting half-century innings to century innings, with a ratio of ten 50s to two hundreds. He hopes to figure more prominently in 2006, after Nottinghamshire chose to focus on a younger attack in more recent matches.
Bicknell announced his intention to retire from cricket at the end of the 2006 season.[1]
