He had a great career, winning 2 Manx Grand Prix races, 1 North West 200 race in 2005, Ulster Grand Prix races, and had 4 Irish National Championships. He had been racing since 1990, and was one of the most popular riders in the road racing scene.
Many in the motorcycling world have paid tribute to him after his death, with Adrian Archibald describing him as "a great racer and a pleasant person". Mervyn Whyte, who is clerk of the course at the North West 200, described him as "a brilliant road racer, a modest cheerful character who will be sadly missed."
