Darnerien McCants (born August 1, 1977 in Odenton, Maryland) is an American football wide receiver who currently plays for Team Tennessee of the All American Football League. He was originally selected with the 23rd pick of the fifth round of the 2001 NFL Draft out of Delaware State University by the Washington Redskins. After showing promise as an end zone threat in 2003, He fell out of favor with the new coaching staff and spent much of 2004 on the inactive list. He was released prior to the 2005 season, and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. Because he signed late in 2005, he did not have much time to learn the playbook and was released and re-signed multiple times during the season. When active in 2005, he primarily played on special teams. On July 11, 2007 McCants was signed to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as a wide receiver. On January 26, 2008, he was selected 38th overall by Team Tennessee in the 2008 AAFL Draft.
