It is well known for a special program in year 6 and 7 where students are allowed to choose some of their subjects but maths, English and LOTE are still compulsory. Another difference for students in grade 6&7 is that they are put in one five or six groups for literacy and numeracy so they are with children of a similar standard.

In term three is athletics day where student compete in different events such as 100m, 200m, 800m, discus, shotput, longjump and high jump. If any student gets third (fifth in cross country) or higher they go to central zone to compete against students from other schools.
