Darkness Descends is the second studio album by the American thrash metal band Dark Angel. The album represents Gene Hoglan's first time drumming for the band in recording sessions. Rob Yahn was replaced with Mike Gonzalez by the time this album was actually released. In 1998, Century Media re-released the album with two additional live tracks.
