Thrawn, last of the Emperor's warlords, may have found just the firepower needed to take a bite out of the New Republic. Information about some two hundred Dreadnaught heavy cruisers (known as the Katana fleet), lost to hyperspace in the days of the Old Republic have come into his possession.
While Han and Lando Calrissian go after the Katana fleet, Leia seeks to influence an alien race which, until now, has been totally loyal to Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Luke is trapped by the wiles of a Dark Jedi. Their fates are intertwined for unless all three can survive, the New Republic may fall. Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewbacca may be up against more than they bargained for, but it's not the first time the odds have been stacked against them.
[edit] Sourcebook
Like the other books in the series, West End Games created for this novel a role-playing game sourcebook that expanded on Zahn's characters, locations, weapons, and other facts.
