Dark Floors — The Lordi Motion Picture is a Finnish horror film. The film was released in February 2008 and features all of the Lordi band members playing the monsters. [edit] Story

Sarah is an autistic little girl whose father is worried about her health. Concerned for her, the father sees a removal from the hospital by force as the only option. An elevator break-down prevents a smooth exit and renders them trapped with others. Yet the incident is only the beginning of a descent into nightmare. As the doors open the hospital appears mysteriously deserted. When mutilated bodies are found, creatures from a dark world start a frightening attack. It soon becomes clear that the survival of the group may rest solely on Sarah.[2]

[edit] Reception

The film was panned by Finnish movie critics. Almost every review published on the Internet gave two stars for the film. Most critics wrote that the film was technically well made but the content was highly unoriginal and the script was poor. Many critics also complained that the Lordi monsters were rather ridiculous than horrifying and that the plot did not explain why the monsters were chasing people (just like they said about Lordi's former film, The Kin).[5]

The movie did not attract Finnish movie goers. The ticket sales of the first weekend were significantly lower than what was expected and it is already seen that the movie did not became a hit in Finland.[6]
