Dario Zuffi first became famous when he was playing on BSC Young Boys. From the very start of his time on Young Boys, Zuffi showed his skills, helping win the title of Swiss Masters for Young Boys by scoring 15 goals and, for that, Dario Zuffi received 'Rookie of the Year' in the 1985/86 season. He continued playing for Young Boys and, in 1988/89 season, Dario Zuffi made 2nd on the Top Scorers list, scoring 19 goals, tied with Kubilay Türkyılmaz. After that, in the 1990/91 season, Dario Zuffi finally made it to 1st on the Top Scorers list, scoring a total of 17 goals that year. After that year he was traded to FC Lugano where in 1993, with Zuffi's help, the team won the Swiss Cup. After they won the cup, Dario Zuffi decided to move the town of Oberwil and joined FC Basel. At that time, FC Basel was in the 2nd tier of the Swiss Soccer League. And Dario Zuffi is considered to be one of the main reasons for FC Basel being promoted to the Swiss Super League. Here, at Basel, he was the captain of the squad and scoring 11 goals giving FC Basel just enough to be moved up. Dario Zuffi stayed with Basel until 1998. After that Zuffi went back to the team that helped discover him, FC Winterthur. He played until the year 2000 and, after 17 years of playing professional soccer, finally retired from playing the soccer pitch.
