Darina is a Mexican singer pop-acoustic artist. She won the first place in Operación Triunfo México. Then, she released her first CD on July, 2003; with the first single "De corazón a corazón" as the principal theme of the soap opera "Velo de Novia". Darina is coming soon with a brand new album on 2008.

Darina Marquez Uribe (born July 28, 1980) is a Mexican singer, songwriter. She made her debut in 2002, in the reality show Operacion Triunfo Mexico (Star Academy) and released her first album Darina in 2003.

Darina was born in Hidalgo, Pachuca. She has an older brother, Jorge, and her mother, Dra. Uribe. Darina began working in a bar-restaurant, 'el cuartel de Villa', where she began having her first fans; Then she work on a radio station in Pachuca. On 2001 She began to study on the University of Pachuca, but she stop it to being part of Operacion Triunfo, and then she won the first place of that Reality Show.

In 2003, she released her first album Darina, with the collaboration of David Bisbal, Mario Domm and Aureo Baqueiro. Her first single 'De corazón a corazón' was the principal theme of the soap opera 'Velo de Novia' by Juan Osorio

In 2004 She went to France, to being part of 'World Best', another reality show, representing Mexico, but she won the 4th place with 66 points.

In the last years, Darina has been very busy working on her second album, which is planned to be released on 2008. Last year she had a few presentations in Canada, singing in local bars and clubs. Nowadays she is having presentations in Mexico.
