Darien Fenton is a New Zealand politician and Member of Parliament. She stood as a list candidate for the Labour Party in the 2005 elections, being ranked 43rd, and was elected to Parliament. Fenton is active in the trade union movement, having been the National Secretary of the Service & Food Workers Union Nga Ringa Tota (SFWU) and vice president of the Council of Trade Unions. She is also the Vice President of the Labour Party Union Affiliates Council.
Since being elected to Parliament, she has continued to promote workers' issues, including her Member's Bill which would provide the equivalent of the minimum wage to contractors, who are not covered by minimum wage legislation (unlike employees).
The Bill has now been referred back to the House for its second reading.
