Daragh O'Malley (b. 25 May 1954) was born in Dublin, Ireland, and has appeared in over 100 film and television series. However, he is best known as the actor who plays Patrick Harper in the hugely popular Sharpe TV series.

Raised in Limerick, a city in south-west Ireland, O'Malley studied drama at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and currently lives in London and Portugal. Daragh's father, Donagh O'Malley, was a very significant Irish politician who served as his country's Minister for Education in the 1960's, introducing a Free Secondary and Third Level education system in Ireland which is credited with the massive upsurge in the Irish economy.

O'Malley's mother, Hilda, a doctor, was the subject of Patrick Kavanagh's love poem "On Raglan Road".
