Octavio Darío Rodríguez Peña (born 17 September 1974 in Montevideo) is an Uruguayan football defender who played 51 games for the Uruguay national team between 2000 and 2007. [1]

He has played the majority of his club football for Peñarol, and FC Schalke 04. His other clubs include Sud América and C.A. Bella Vista in Uruguay and Toluca in Mexico. He left Schalke 04 in January 2008 and returned to Uruguay and Peñarol.

For the Uruguay national football team he was a participant at the 2002 FIFA World Cup and scored Uruguay's first goal of the tournament, a volley that curled into the top left corner of the goal. He has worn the captain's arm band for Uruguay. He also played for Uruguay at Copa América 2004[2] and 2007.[3]
