Daphne Hatzilakos is a fictional character on Degrassi: The Next Generation played by Melissa DiMarco. She is first introduced as a recurring character during season two as a science teacher and coach. In season four, Hatzilakos was promoted to principal after Daniel Raditch was assigned to another school following a tragic shooting. She's also the mother of Peter Stone.
The boys nicknamed her Ms. Hotsauce. J. T. Yorke, one of her students, had a crush on her back in Season 2.
During Season 5's "Lexicon Of Love", Ms. Hatzilakos was found making out with Mr. Simpson, by Emma, his step daughter in an empty theater. This later causes friction and distrust between Emma and Ms Hatzilakos.
She also refused to let Spinner back into school at first because of his involvement with the school shooting. At the end of Season 5, she reveals that she can't allow Jimmy to graduate because of the amount of school he's missed. She is forced to hold him back, and delay his graduation one year.
In the Halloween special, "Degrassi of the Dead", the undead zombie version of Ms. Hatzilakos killed Jay by biting his neck.
