Daphne Fowler has been appearing on the British quiz show Eggheads since 2003, and is one of the strongest of the five Eggheads, a quiz team described on the show as "arguably the most formidable quiz team in the country."
Contestants are often guilty of prejudging Daphne based on her 'sweet old lady' appearance, and choose her as their opponent for the sports round, only for the show's host to reveal that sport is actually one of her strongest subjects.
It is often mentioned on the programme that she is a friend and mentor to fellow Egghead C. J. de Mooi.
