[edit] Image licenses
Hi, I would very much like to transfer your beautiful theatre pictures to wikimedia.commons, so they could be added to commons:Theatre buildings, and wikipedia projects in other languages could use them. Unfortunately, the license of the files is unclear. If these are your own photos, could you have a look at Wikipedia:Copyright tags, and then tag the description pages with an appropriate free license of your choice (preferably {{GFDL}})? That would be great. Thanks in advance. By the way, if you don't license the images propery, they may aven have to be deleted from wikipedia, which would be a shame. Greetings from Germany --AndreasPraefcke 20:16, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Thank you very much for your quick answer. I'll transfer the files later today. Regards --AndreasPraefcke 12:27, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Anzac Square
Hi Danubis. Where'd you get that cool Anzac Square picture from? Slac speak up! 01:41, 23 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- I've had a browse round there and I can't find the image specifically - the unfortunate thing is that there seems to be a copyright notice at the bottom of their page, and, again unfortunately, legally we're not allowed to make the assumption that an image is free in the absence of explicit copyright assertion, since a person doesn't have to assert copyright in order to hold it. It'd be great if somewhere on that site (I haven't been able to find it, there was something that specified the terms of release for the images, or better still for that individual image). Cheers, Slac speak up! 22:13, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Tmbagarden.JPG
Could you provide a source for this image? Thanks. --Gmaxwell 12:03, 18 September 2005 (UTC)
- Ditto for Image:Tmbamap.JPG, though I'm guessing you're not the copyright holder for that one... --Gmaxwell 12:04, 18 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Aprilcity1.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Aprilcity1.JPG. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 13:49, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
