[edit] Chaim Yisroel Eiss

I see you are contributing your article on Chaim Yisroel Eiss to Wikipedia: many thanks for this!

However, I must warn you that there may be problems. Because your article has already been published online, and because it's impossible to be certain that the person contributing it to Wikipedia is who she claims to be, it is possible that somebody will assume that the article is a copyright violation and delete it.

If you want to avoid this, then it would very much help if you could change the copyright notice on the copy of the article on your personal website. At present, it says "all rights reserved to the author". However, in order to place this text on Wikipedia, it must be licensed under the GFDL. If you change your website to say that the text is licensed under the GFDL, then it will be quite clear to everyone that no copyright is being violated, and there will be no problems in that regard.

I am going to do that. Thank you
More details for you! You need to attatch a copyright notice on the photo you uploaded (Image:Eiss-last2.gif) or someone may delete it as well. Click on this link Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags for a detailed list of the notice you should place in the Summary section of the photo. Cheers. --Bookandcoffee 19:23, 30 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Chaim Yisroel Eiss

A "{{prod}}" template has been added to the article Chaim Yisroel Eiss, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. gorgan_almighty 12:24, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Question: Are there, perhaps, any synagogues, temples, or schools that possess published materials that the rest of us could use to improve the article? I couldn't find anything online that didn't seem to come from the same source(s) already used. Lawikitejana 20:48, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Possibly, if the subject matter is indeed genuine, but I'm afraid I don't know of any. This article is so badly written that it would be better to let it be deleted then start again, or let someone who knows about it restart it. —gorgan_almighty 09:30, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Eiss-new.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Eiss-new.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 07:50, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Chaim Yisroel Eiss - Urgent request for information

Danubablue, I have been trying to contribute to the article you created entitled Chaim Yisroel Eiss, however there are serious problems. All of the facts in a Wikipedia article need to have external references, to prove that they are not false. Although you have provided a lot of information in the article, you have not provided any external references that can be used to verify the information. You say that you are the great-granddaughter of Chaim Yisrael Eiss, and that all the information you have came from his letters. While I do respect and believe this, it is essential that you can provide external evidence of the claims in the article, otherwise the article cannot remain on Wikipedia.

I have been searching for external information on Chaim Yisrael Eiss, but have so far found very little. Certainly nothing that would substantiate the information in the article. I am coming to you because I assume that if anyone knows of reliable sources of external information on your great-grandfather, it would be you. Are your great-grandfather's letters published anywhere? Or are they publicly available in any form? Have they been authenticated by anyone in authority on the subject? Are there any published books that mention your great-grandfather? Even better, are there any on-line databases or notable websites that detail his involvement with Agudas Israel?

I would greatly appreciate your help with this. Without independent evidence of the claims in the article, there is nothing I can do to prevent the article from being deleted as a suspected hoax.

Thank you. —gorgan_almighty 16:23, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
