[edit] Your edits to Beloit, Wisconsin

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, Danieljluebke! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, and try to reinsert the link again. If your link was genuine spam, please note that inserting spam into Wikipedia is against policy. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! Shadowbot 01:32, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

You added an image of something apparently called a water tower to the Beloit article (it actually looks more like a forestry observation tower, but who am I to say?)... I made the image much less intrusive in the article, but I really don't know what to say about it in the image caption. Please make the description of the image better in the article when you get a chance. Cheers, Tomertalk 02:56, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Danieljluebke, please don't write things like "Beloit Middle College, anchoring the heart of Beloit College, coexisting with modern architecture and technology.‎" I don't actually know what it means, but it sounds like it's trying to say how wonderful Beloit is, which we don't do on Wikipedia because of our neutral point of view. Generally we should try to stay factual and terse. Also, please start using show preview so that you can make fewer edits, and when you do save an edit, please fill out the edit summary field, explaining what you are editing and if necessary why. It makes a big difference to other editors.--Dhartung | Talk 22:45, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Image-Beloit middle college.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Image-Beloit middle college.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:07, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to the Wisconsin Badgers page. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. Leuko 23:45, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding your disruptive edits to Wikipedia

  1. Please do not delete or edit legitimate talk page comments; this is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. The edits I reverted were here. Feel welcome to discuss this at my Talk page. --Dhartung | Talk 06:11, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
  2. Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from Janesville, Wisconsin. Please be more careful when editing articles and do not remove content from Wikipedia without a good reason, which should be specified in the edit summary. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. --Dhartung | Talk 05:20, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
  3. Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, as you did to Talk:WIAA Big Eight Conference, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Bossi (talk ;; contribs) 04:16, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Danieljluebke, I think you want to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, but just don't realize how important it is to follow guidelines and the manual of style. In the case of Talk pages, they exist to discuss how to improve the article or resolve disputes; they aren't for cheering the team, as you literally did. (Most editors don't consider off-topic posts vandalism, just material that should be removed.) Please familiarize yourself at least with the simplified ruleset so that you have an idea what is important in this community. Thanks, and happy editing. -- Dhartung | Talk 04:44, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Images

Hi again. I appreciate your going to the trouble of finding Beloit images. You should know that if you don't resolve the licensing questions they will be deleted again eventually. I suggest that you add to all your images the URL where they exist on Flickr as soon as possible; this will help any administrator who has to deal with them determine quickly whether they are properly licensed. Note that just saying "with permission" is insufficient, as the person giving permission needs to be contacted, and that shouldn't be the responsibility of an overworked admin. As for me, I don't want to adjust a caption or move an image only to have it deleted later, either. So help everyone out by following all the steps on these! -- Dhartung | Talk 03:32, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Beloit lagoon.jpg listed for deletion

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:Beloit lagoon.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, a non-profit website, this is in fact not the case. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 21:28, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Josh Burton

A tag has been placed on Josh Burton, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you feel that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Realkyhick 17:41, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hollidazzle

A tag has been placed on Hollidazzle, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Thanks for uploading Image:Riverfest-fireworks 3-cr.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. [edit] July 2007

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you've been adding your signature to some of your article contributions, such as you did to Hollidazzle. This is a simple mistake to make and by now should have been corrected. For future reference, the need to associate edits with users is taken care of by an article's edit history. Therefore, you should use your signature only when contributing to talkpages, the Village Pump, or other such discussion pages. For a better understanding of what distinguishes articles from these type of pages, please see What is an article?. Again, thanks for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. [edit] Southern Wisconsin AirFest

A tag has been placed on Southern Wisconsin AirFest, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content.

[edit] Movies at Harry's Place

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Movies at Harry's Place, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
