Hey folks. A sparse UserTalk page. I'm new to Wiki and happy to help with the knowledge base but bear in mind that I have little sophistication with WikiPolitics, WikiPolicing, or any of the technical aspects of the project. Dan Levy 12:27, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- How to edit a page
- Editing tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! [edit] Hey doc!
Hi, welcome to Wikipedia and enjoy. We have a place where all the medically minded people hang out: WikiProject "Clinical Medicine". You are invited to join. There also subprojects such as Nephro and GI. Nephron T|C 01:35, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Vandal fighting...
There is a quick way to revert-- see Wikipedia:Tools/Navigation popups.
There is a procedure for dealing with repeated vandals -- it is described in detail on the WP:Vandal page. Generally, as I understand it, the proper procedure is to give a warning -- see WP:Vandal#Warnings.
Thereafter, you can report 'em on the Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism page and an admin will usually quickly block 'em. You cannot block someone unless you are an admin.
Beyond that, you can click on the person's edit history (e.g. here is mine)-- to see if they have edited other articles; vandals frequently modify several articles. Nephron T|C 22:35, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
nb "Help:Reverting" page is simple, too. Dan Levy 02:55, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- It is a pleasure to help. :) If you have any other questions-- feel free to ask. NOTE: you can indent passages by placing a colon (:) at the beginning of the line. With all the interest in electrolytes... are you a nephrologist par chance? Nephron T|C 04:34, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, hey... the wikification was just to be clear. I'm all for the KISS principle and being clear --even if that means I come across as being pedantic. :) As for the interest in neprhology-- in some ways it is accidental. I wanted to do some research on technology in medicine and then found myself working with a nephrologist on home hemodialysis. Thereafter, making use of my engineering background, I gained some insight into the world of dialysis measurement (e.g. Kt/V, standarized Kt/V, URR etc.)... which has been fun and I'll hopefully be publishing on soon. The nephrology WikiProject... needs some life pumped into it-- if you have some suggestions... you can add 'em on the nephro talk page. Nephron T|C 08:02, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Renal tubular acidosis
Hi Danieliralevy, When you have a moment-would you like to check out renal tubular acidosis? I've been polishing the article for a while now, and would like an expert's outside eye to see what changes need to be made before I think about nominating it as a good article. Cheers.FelixFelix talk 15:54, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- I think the opening of the article could use some more discussion. Felix-felix and I have been going back and forth... and I think the article has been confused about the acidosis in RTA. I have the sense it is a misnomer. Any case, I left Felix-felix a long message about the back and forth... it's here. Nephron T|C 17:25, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Userbox
Hello: I created a Userbox for the nephrology project. If there is strong feeling about changing the appearance, we can discuss that on the project talk page. The template is at: Template:User WikiProject Nephrology. To post it on your user page, paste {{User WikiProject Nephrology}} . —Gaff ταλκ 20:30, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
This user is a member of the Nephrology WikiProject. |
- Okay...adrenal has been removed. Resized and now it looks like its standardized.—Gaff ταλκ 23:07, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
