[edit] Userpage Design
Left details at User:Daniel.Bryant/Userpage Design--Deon555talkReview 00:39, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- Nice idea. I should have something for you by Sunday afternoon Australian time. Daniel.Bryant 07:09, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Good job
Isn't it nicer when Defcon drops a notch? Cheers -- Samir धर्म 08:53, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- Wow, thanks... I left it @ level 3 because if their dynamic IP ends up outside the rangeblock, we might have another one to deal with. Cheers, Daniel.Bryant 08:57, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Valencia
I just noticed this while on RC patrol. I think it makes sense to move Valencia to Valencia (music group) and Valencia (city) to Valencia. I will place the requests at WP:RQM. Cheers, E Asterion u talking to me? 12:55, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yep, thanks - I really couldn't be bothered to move it, as I'm in a content dispute with the editor in question. Thanks. Daniel.Bryant 12:56, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- It is a complete mess. The talk page was moved before but not the article the history for the music group talk page has been lost. I didn't know what to do so I have been bold and moved the article to Valencia (music group) and set up Valencia as a redirect to Valencia (disambiguation). It is not perfect but better than having talk and article page pointing to different entries. I will modify the listing at WP:RQM and suggest moving Valencia (city) to Valencia. Cheers, E Asterion u talking to me? 13:09, 25 August 2006 (UTC)r
[edit] Rfa-ness
Thanks alot for your kind words Daniel. I had a feeling you might vote in favour :D. I am so far pleased with how things have gone - although hopefully next week I will get back to proper editing!!
As to your RfA (yes dragging up again sorry) I think the people opposing me over the polls are evil comments are more valid than the opposes you got. Did I apologise for nominating you by the way? In retrospect it was the wrong thing to do, ah well!
Catch you around --Errant Tmorton166(Talk)(Review me) 21:57, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] A-League
Hi Daniel, thanks for the Support. I don't really know anything about soccer but I love statistics and Soccer provides them in an abundance! I have joined the Wikiproject:A-League as you recommended. Thanks, sorry if I have messed up your talk page! I was the first to place something on it since you archived your old material and didn't really know where you wanted it. Ronan.evans 11:39, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
- Nope, you got it perfectly right. By the way, a few handy links: WP:A-L links top the Wikiproject; WP:A-L/PP links to the Player Project, our major initiative; and WP:A-L/RC lists all the recent changes in articles related to the A-League. Cheers! Daniel.Bryant 11:40, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] You question on ANI
You inquired about the user name of User:Poopdeck. Please see Poop deck. It is a legitimate, non-offensive term. — ERcheck (talk) 13:19, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I've seen a lot better blocked, so I wasn't sure if it would be too. Daniel.Bryant 13:21, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Esperanza/User Page Award
Hi Daniel.Bryant! You've signed up to be a judge for the Esperanza User Page Award! You'll have three user pages to examine. The user pages you get coincide with your signup number. So if you signed up to be a judge in spot 1 than you will get nominations 1-3. Pick your favorite one, and list it in the finalist section. After all 5 judges have chosen a finalist it's time to award them 1-10 points in the four categories:
- Attractiveness: general layout, considering colour scheme and/or use of tables if applicable
- Usefulness: links to subpages or editing aids, helpful information
- Interesting-ness: quirky, unique, captivating, or funny content
- Subpages: quality of subpages, talk pages.
- General niceness: at the judges' discretion
Please see the Scores section on this page for additional information on your job as a judge.
Keep in mind that your scores are confidential! Email Petros471 with your scores and final picks. As soon as all the scores have been tallied, a winner will be announced! Thanks.
[edit] Re: My Talk Page
Got your message. I have a few questions for you.
Are you an administrator? If not, who gave you permission to revert my talk page?
2. How the hell did a random user find his way onto my talk page in the first place? Are you stalking me?
3. As far as I was made aware THERE IS NO RULE that say's I cannot wipe MY talk page! Merely a discussion on it. The rules are for OTHER topic pages.
4. Do not EVER edit my page without first DISCUSSING it with me. Snowbound 01:54, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- I believe an administrator has warned you about your actions, regarding the blanking of warnings off pages, as well as your general actions on Wikipedia. Hence, I will say no more. Daniel.Bryant 06:17, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Hmm well spotted. I think I know what's causing the problem but I just have to find how to fix it. If I can't work it out within the next few minutes I'll take it off and try elsewhere. – AlbinoMonkey (Talk) 06:54, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- Done. Thanks again for pointing it out. – AlbinoMonkey (Talk) 06:58, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A-League Player Profile Photos
Hi. WHat's the latest on the player profile photos for A-League players. Let me know when I can upload the images. Thanks. Rossoneri3
10:51, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- I sent them off today, about 4 hours ago. I'm expecting results by the end of the week. By the way, you need to edit your custom signature - it needs bold tags (''') at the end, and remove the
per WP:SIG. Cheers, Daniel.Bryant 10:59, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] I need help
Note Doug Utjesenovic, Jack Reilly etc. Why is creating a double reference link - any ideas? I would have asked on IRC, but my client is screwing up. Cheers, Daniel.Bryant 11:58, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Don't worry, it's stopped now. Daniel.Bryant 12:00, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Re-adding tag - although it stopped with the two links above, another one of my articles (which was created before the two above) continues to screw up. Note Adelaide United FC Season 2009-10. Daniel.Bryant 12:02, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hey daniel, this seems to be a large problem at the moment. I got it yesterday and the willage pump question page has had a few queries over it. Before I have fixed it with a dummy edit and clearing the cache but it didnt work this time!!!! odd. --Errant Tmorton166(Talk)(Review me) 12:13, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My RfA
Thanks!
Thank you very much for your support on my recent Request for Adminship. The request was ultimately unsuccessful - which wasn't entirely surprising - and so I'll be taking special care to address the concerns raised by the opposing !voters before running again. If you have any feedback for me, please don't hesitate to leave it at my talk page. Thanks! |
[edit] Parenthesis
Hi Daniel. Sorry to bother, but I know that you are a good userpage editor and so I thought that maybe you could help me with this. I am trying to insert these big parenthesis "" on my userpage, but I am unfamiliar with the code and can't change their background color to #F0DC82. Do you by any chance know how to change the white background? Thank you.--Húsönd 20:59, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think it's possible, because the background is like a set image. However, I'm not all that experienced in that area, so I recommend you add the {{helpme}} tags to your userpage, and simply ask the same question above. If it can be done, someone will come past and help you (your user gets temporarily added to a category which is frequently watched by friendly users, so you'll definately be catered for). Daniel.Bryant 06:22, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Esperanza/User Page Award
Hello, Daniel.Bryant. This is a quick message to remind you that all 5 finalists for the Esperanza User Page Award have been chosen. You now need to judge those 5 pages, awarding each one 1-10 points for attractiveness, usefulness, interesting-ness, general niceness and quality of subpages. Refer to the Scores section at the project page if you are unsure of how to score.
Once you have scored the 5 pages, email Petros471 using the specified format. As soon as all the scores have been tallied, a winner will be announced. Thanks. May the Force be with you! Shreshth91($ |-| ŗ 3 $ |-| ţ |-|) 11:15, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Almost whoops....
Wow, I almost knee-jerked indefblocked you because for a moment I thought you were Daniel Brandt. I hope that hasn't been a complication for you on the 'pedia from other skimming-too-fast editors. Cheers, JDoorjam Talk 06:52, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- I'm averaging about one a day, plus three on IRC who scream "Brandt!" when I join #wikipedia. Don't worry :p Daniel.Bryant 06:54, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Snowbound
Dear Daniel, Another user well known to you at the moment, User:Snowbound raised concerns on my talk page about the dispute you had with him. Without making any judgement or taking sides, this situation (which led to his comment on your talk page and your post at the admin noticeboard) seems most easily to solve by simply letting it rest for a while. Asking for measures against the user seems not appropriate over such a small thing. I also asked him to let it rest for now, which seems the easiest way to solve such a small dispute. Best regards and happy editing! --Cpt. Morgan (Reinoutr) 08:03, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. I would have done the same thing, but I have no way to talk with him because of his unofficial barring of use of his talk page. Can you please tell him that he can't place these kind of restrictions on his talk page? I would do it, but I don't want this to get any bigger than it has to, so an outside party needs to do it for me. Daniel.Bryant 08:07, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

- Done. Thanks for the cooperation. Cpt. Morgan (Reinoutr) 08:19, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] A-League Player Profile Photos
All done. Several Perth Glory players do not have photos and many of the other players only have "action" shots. All the other clubs are OK except for some players who are only on a short-term deal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rossoneri3 (talk • contribs)
[edit] Well prepared!
Its the scouts motto after all (not that that is in any way relevant). I saw that edit - how I found the article :D - and was gonna rv it, but I thought it was quite amusing and you might want to keep it, someone still removed it I see LOL! --Errant Tmorton166(Talk)(Review me) 12:00, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- I've met Alex "Toilet Block" (sic) Wilkinson once before at a Central Coast Mariners FC game - ironic, huh? Daniel.Bryant 12:02, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] 220.233.51.231 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log)
No problem, I was checking WP:AIV, and there he was, distributing more "toilet blocks" after his last warning, so it was time for him to have a WP block instead :-) Cheers. --Cactus.man ✍ 12:17, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Userpage
Sorry to bother you again. I just returned home where I have a smaller monitor than the one where I had been editing recently. While the entire Wikipedia resizes well to this screen, my userpage doesn't. I've checked some other users' pages and they size accordingly. Could you please help me if you know what's wrong with mine? Sorry for the hassle. --Húsönd 22:50, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- I'll have a look at it. The problem is probably that you used width in pixels (px) rather than percent (%). I'll have a go a bit later. Daniel.Bryant 06:10, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Signature help.
Hey Daniel! The page resuffle looks great! I've been tring to "fix" my signature so I can have a green S (eSperanza) , lose the sig image and have a few spare spaces for extra links, unfortunately - I've met a few snags. I was wondering if you could help me as it seems that you have had sucess.

With raw signature ticked I get:

Can you explain how i am the villain? Dfrg.msc is the villain here. He has been going around annoying insulting and now dicrediting me and you say i am the villain, no i am the victim! Could you explain to me where i have went wrong so i can correct it?

Culverin Talk 13:16, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- He created an initiative, uploaded an image on August 28, and you have gone off and created a rip-off, uploaded on September 1, paraded it around his, as well as other user talk pages to infuriate him, and I find that to not be in the best interests of peace on Wikipedia. Oh, and please explain what you mean by the header, because if it means what I think it means, it is a defamatory personal attack directed towards my integrity, and that might be inhibiting for your ability to edit. Daniel.Bryant 13:21, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

- Dear Daniel
- The striv campaign was just a joke and nothing more. It was just a funny parody of his strive banner. I didnt intend to insult or attack him at all. You talk about the header but what about your rather helpful message on my talk page. You said you wouldnt help me bacuase i angered dfrg.msc. That not the wiki way. I will apologise to you when you apologise to me as well.
