[edit] Stetson

Greetings! Was editing the sad stub that is (was) Stetson (the article, not the university) and noticed your user page when seeing what linked there; thought I'd leave you a message. And so I have. -- Kat, who skulks about in dark corners of the math department, and goes by Mindspillage 22:13, 1 Sep 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Chai

Actually the formal (i.e. correct) pronunciation in Persian should be exactly the same as the Indian, AFAIK. Of course in India there are different variations of the pronunciation depending on the regional dialect. Same thing in Iran. A much less formal pronunciation in Persian, for example, is something like "cha-ee." At any rate, ultimately it's all the same. ;) SouthernComfort 02:04, 27 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Southern Comfort would know this better than I, but in the movie 'Maryam' the father was pridefully claiming words like sugar and tea were from Persian (much as the father in My Big Fat Greek Wedding), though we know the etymology is a little more complex. But in any case, I did find it interesting that the Farsi (چاى) and Hindi (चाय) [or Urdu چاۓ] were pronounced the same. Not groundbreaking the two have a cognate, nor the same exact word even; just something I made note of for a future reference when needed, like here! Khiradtalk 04:20, 25 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Spaghetti Tree

Voice quality is fine, but I would say the reading is a bit stiff. You pause over some words so it sounds like you are reading the article for the first time.

Yes, it is probably because I was reading the article for the first time :-) Could edit the pauses out. I was trying to be a bit stiff to try to be more encyclopaedic, the other extreme might be including the 3 minutes of laughter outtakes in the Sealed crustless sandwich reading. [edit] Lend Me Your Ear

Hey... I've been wanting to create some spoken word articles for awhile but haven't until today. I created a *test* file on a small article and would like you to take a listen for some contructive feedback before I begin creating more. Anyway, if you have the time please take a look at Parks_of_Chicago. Jasenlee 03:15, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
