Hey you're doing a great job so far on the Hawkeye football 1889-1899 article. I have a few good offline Iowa resources, and if you ever need some information and can't find it online, I'd be happy to check for it, just let me know. Keep up the good work! Iowa13 15:45, 19 July 2007

Sounds good. There is a good website put up by the Iowa Alumni Association (Gridiron Glory - 100+ Years of Iowa Football) that has some interesting stats and "color commentary" on each season from 1889 to the present, along with audio and video. There are season highlight videos for Iowa's best teams, going all the way back to 1921. If you haven't seen it, you should check it out. There is a lot of information that would really expand the 1889-1899 article, game notes and such. I like the idea for an article about Jones' teams. If you're planning on documenting only his 1921 and '22 squads, you could probably do a separate article for each. Otherwise an article about his whole career at Iowa would be preferable, probably using the format from the other articles you're working on. Go Hawks! Iowa13 21:23, 19 July 2007
Thanks for the templates...I am going to use the game results one for the 1921 and 1922 team articles, once I have added game information. Without the information the template does not work. I'll give the other ones a try as well. Iowa13 01:53, 25 July 2007
The 1889-1899 article looks great! You did some really good work on it. There is a recurring red link, the WIUFA, and I didn't know if you were planning on creating an article for it so I left it alone. Otherwise everything was really well done. I've finished an article about the 1921 Iowa team and I am almost done with an article about the 1922 team. In the Iowa Hawkeyes football under Howard Jones article, you could do season capsules for each of those years, with Main Article links to the articles I've created. They should be helpful for the football under Howard Jones article, I've included information on the pre- and post-seasons of '21 and '22 as well as info on each individual game. Thanks for the good work! Iowa13 21:08, 26 July 2007
That'd be great if you could get pictures. I haven't got any myself, only a poor quality video of the 1921 Indiana game. GA would be difficult but with some good review I think we'd have a shot. Iowa13 19:47, 27 July 2007

It doesn't matter when a picture was taken, but published. So if it was taken in 1922, it might not have been published before 1923. You used the CFB Schedule template so you couldn't add the table summary like I suggested, so I just removed the schedule section edit and think it looks okay. Also, you should always use WikiCode and not HTML when possible. So I removed the closing table and replaced it with the wiki-equivalent, you can see what I did here. I'm glad to see you working hard on CFB articles and glad that you work on something more recent too! MECUtalk 13:03, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the invite. I'll try to help out where I can. I like your idea of sorting out the history by eras. That's what I tried to do on the main Iowa football page. A section about 'IA under Irl Tubbs' could be pretty sparse; articles like 'IA from 1932-1938' might work better, unless the coach is Jones, Ingwersen, Evy, Fry, or Ferentz. Also, I'm planning to create a 'history of Iowa Hawkeyes football' page and separate most of section one out from the main Iowa football article, which seems to be the trend now. See 'Los Angeles Lakers', section 2 - for an example of what I mean. Like your work, guys! Rozehawk 14:35, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
I think it needs to be expanded. Most of the season descriptions are very short and describe only the very obvious. I didn't check for reference at the bottom, but don't recall seeing references in-line, adding references would be good. Further, more detailed information like who were the coaches, top scorers, roster, awards if any and so forth. Look at a single 2006 season page and (sans recruiting) see what other information should be added to each season section. I think it might pass, but it all depends on who is reviewing it which is a toss up. I'd give it about a 25% chance (I wouldn't pass it), though it does show hard work has been put into it. Upon reading Requests for feedback, I added a few comments to the talk page. I hope they are of some help. Good luck. SriMesh | talk 04:03, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

The TOC won't collapse? Wow. Uh, that's a new one. I wish I could help, but I'm actually pretty dumb at the complex syntax in templates in whatnot. --fuzzy510 23:39, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
