[edit] Re: Prison Break characters

Hi, DanDud88. I've replied on my talk page. Ladida 10:12, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Please refrain from re-adding the two COs back to the characters' list and state your reasons for the importance of those characters in Talk:List of Prison Break characters#Excessive minor characters. In my opinion, these characters have very minor roles and do not need to be added onto the list. I am not the only person who has removed them thus I am asking you to reply on the talk page before you revert our edits. Thank you. -- Ladida 03:31, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Pb Coca.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Pb Coca.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BrownCow • (how now?) 23:02, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: P.B. cast

Hi DanDud88. I understand what you mean. Believe me, I want to remove about half the characters listed presently since they are (in my opinion) too minor. However, I appreciated that you gave me a reason for retaining your characters' descriptions. I have tried to initiate a talk about that on the talk page but only you have replied. I simply cannot be bothered about maintaining that list anymore. If you would like to pursue this matter further, talk to the editors in the talk page. I am sorry I can't help you with this - I am swarmed with work at the moment. Regards, Ladida 10:44, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Moving of Nikita article

I have reverted the move of the Nikita article, as previous discussion (on the talk page) had established that since the original production title of the series was Nikita then it should be under this title, not the American title. You are welcome to start a discussion thread to get consensus on whether to move it back, but for now consensus from previous discussion was to keep the article at Nikita (TV series). [edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Pb Mac.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Pb Mac.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 23:36, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 30 Rock

The plural form of "Wednesday" is "Wednesdays", as the article stated, and not "Wednesday's", as you put it. Apostrophes do not make words plural. Thanks! Lambertman 21:51, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] CSI Miami

The reason why I put ""...immediately following an episode of the original CSI" is because sometimes Showcase's 10 P.M. show could run longer than an hour, so both shows can be delayed. A prime example is the airings of The L word, which is uncut, but has commercials, preceeds CSI on Thursday Nights.

[edit] Prison Break

Hi. Can you please not re-add the flag icons to the Prison Break DVD section? I think they are unnecessary and the flag icons are not to be used in such a way. They shouldn't be used everytime the country is mentioned. However, if you disagree, can you please reply before you do add them back? Thank you, Ladida 06:07, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your page moves

Why are you moving pages for franchises from names such as Star Trek to The Star Trek Franchise without discussing it first? -- DiegoTehMexican 23:33, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

You also moved Law & Order franchise to The Law & Order Franchise without explanation. The original title seems better and more logical, and I think it should be reverted. You'll probably want to say something on its talk page. Sean Hayford O'Leary 00:52, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Page blanking

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Hollyoaks. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. J Di talk 23:08, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] link to British

Hello. Thank you for your recent edit multiple pages regarding Channel 4 personalities. Your edits included one or more links to the page British, which is a disambiguation page. This type of page is intended to direct users to more specific topics. Ordinarily we try to avoid creating links to disambiguation pages, since it is preferable to link directly to the specific topic relevant to the context. You can help Wikipedia by revising the links to refer directly to the most relevant topic such as such as United Kingdom or Great Britain by writing out [[United Kingdom|British]] or [[Great Britain|British]]. [edit] Fact tags gone?

Hi, I noticed you removed the "citation needed" tags from Sarah and Amy Barnes' middle names - yet, as far as I know, the middle names are completely uncorroborated. I think someone just wrote them there without any proof, ie. StudentSteve who created both pages (with the middle names in both beginning versions) - and he doesn't appear to have any proof.
I think the middle names should just be removed from both pages in an effort to maintain accuracy. Your thoughts? 97198 02:56, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Well, I see you've gone ahead and removed them. 97198 talkcontribs 13:34, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Sean Kennedy (Author)

An editor has nominated Sean Kennedy (Author), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sean Kennedy (Author) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. [edit] Family sections of Hollyoaks character articles

Please do not revert my edits on the character sections of Hollyoaks character articles. They are neater the way I have done them - and "(deceased)" needs neither to be in italics or to have a capital letter. Also, lists of people should be on one line, not separated by <br>. Also, the status of past characters within the show (i.e. "Left Hollyoaks" or "Not located in Hollyoaks") does not need to be listed in the family sections, it is irrelevant. Step family and ex-family do not need to be listed either - as well as "friends and other relationships" - the friends sections are very untidy and not uncyclopedic - but you can't go wrong with family. Please do not change the sections again. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 21:04, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Also, (Older) and (Younger) are unneeded. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 21:05, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:CindyCunningham.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:CindyCunningham.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECUtalk 22:35, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:CindyCunningham.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:CindyCunningham.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECUtalk 22:35, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tables

On the tables in CSI franchise - I don't see it being an either/or situation. I added the comics tables to the franchise entry as a quick and dirty guide. The main comics entry is designed to provide more detailed informaiton. I'd be in favour of leaving the tables and expanding the novels sections (ditto putting the tables back into the franchise entry). Tables aren't really desirable in general style guidelines - they work OK on the franchise page but you' not really want them on the main one.

I've also added the Template:Main tag to link through to the novels.

I think we are at a point where my suggestion for updating the templates (see talk page) might work. Let me know what you think. (Emperor 16:04, 5 May 2007 (UTC))

[edit] List of Law & Order plot inspirations

For every point "episode X is inspired from real case Y", there should be at least a link to a reliable source that documents the fact that episode X was indeed based on case Y. Since I presume you got the information on that page from somewhere, this shouldn't be difficult to you (while it would be a mess for everyone else). Tizio 14:33, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Doesn't look especially important to me, but it's not difficult to do either. Take a look at the first two cases (I set the width to be the same for the two cells). Tizio 15:46, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
The article has had the "original research" and "unreferenced" tag for a while. Instead of minding the formatting, I'd have looked for sources. At this point, I don't have any other suggestion other than the ones in the section below. Tizio 13:41, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] List of Law & Order plot inspirations

I see that you have put a lot of work into the article and it must be frustrating to have it proposed for deletion. If you want to save it, you need to find sources (like newspaper articles or interviews with the writers) that proves the connection between the episodes and the cases. If you have such sources but are unsure about how to put them into the article send me a message and I'll help insert them. Best wishes Pax:Vobiscum 09:57, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

In that case I don't think there is much that can be done, websites like that normally don't qualify as reliable sources. If you ever have any question regarding policy or something like that, feel free to send me a message. / Pax:Vobiscum 22:19, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Marking a major change as a minor one (and vice versa) is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. Adding whole sections to an article is not considered a minor edit. Collectonian (talk) 21:47, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:KrisFisher.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:KrisFisher.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:26, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Pb Mac.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Pb Mac.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 00:49, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hollyoaks characters

Hi. I've restored your two edits relating to Kieron Hobbs and Niall Rafferty‎. Under the WP:FICTION guidelines, these two characters are not notable enough to have their own pages. Please do not restore them back to their pages unless you can prove (under those guidelines) that they are notable enough for their own pages. ~~ [Jam][talk] 20:26, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:BenDavies.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:BenDavies.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 01:42, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed deletion of Dale Jackson

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Dale Jackson, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Magioladitis (talk) 17:26, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Image:CindyCunningham.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:CindyCunningham.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with no fair use rationale uploaded after May 4, 2006 which has been tagged as not having a rationale for more than 7 days.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ~~ [Jam][talk] 17:24, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
