Adelaide is the fifth-largest city in Australia, with a population of over 1.1 million in 2006, and is the capital and most populous city of the state of South Australia. Adelaide is well-connected via air, with 5 major airlines - Qantas, Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand - flying to the city directly. Many other major airlines connect to Adelaide via Sydney, a short flight away.
The airport is located 8 kilometres (5 mi) from the central business district, and is connected via the Skylink shuttle service.

Adelaide has an extensive and efficient public transport network, including buses, trains and trams. These are all operated by Adelaide Metro, which uses integrated ticketing. The Convention Centre is an approximately 3 minute walk from the Adelaide Railway Station, and directly located on various bus and tram routes.
