Dryer Dwarves:

Dryer Dwarves are the reason that your loose random articles of clothing with you dry your clothes. They usually migrate around laundromats, but have been known to visit residences too. They prefer socks, but have been known to take undergarments as well.

There have been many attempts at getting rid of the dryer dwarves, but most have failed. The only dryable item that helps to alleviate the presence of Dryer Dwarves is a fabric softener sheet. However odd this may seem, Dryer Dwarves are a normally rough type of creature, and anything that might soften them scares them away.

Here is a recent snip out of a unpublished article on Dryer Dwarves: "Someone once said that you can always count on the Dryer Dwarves. If all else fails, you always know that they are going to take that random sock out of the dryer. And when you go to look for that sock and you dont find it, you know that you can always blame it on the Dryer Dwarves. So when you are feeling down in the dumps, and that nothing worse could happen, just remember: you could always be a Dwarf and steal other peoples socks all day."
