This stub is unnecessary, my propsal is to merge it with Siege stub and to give it some other name. Or, most likely, attach it as a section to the Free election of Anna Jagiello and then Stefan Bathory article after (soon) will be expanded. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mikołajski (talkcontribs) 23:10, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

You might want to make up your mind before you make random proposals.-- Matthead  Discuß   23:21, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

BTW, Danzig's mayor Georg Kleefeld de:Georg Kleefeld[1] was involved in the early stages.-- Matthead  Discuß   23:21, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

I am looking forward to you translating that article from de wiki.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 23:48, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Is it bad English again or is it too complicated what i say? I proposed it twice- three times to merge with Election stub, as it is related (indirectly, but still). Ok, great, than add that major somewhere. Mikołajski (talk) 23:35, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
What election stub? We do not have an article on election of Stephan Bathory, and free election is way to general for details of any one election. Preferably, we should have a detailed article also on the sejm that elected Stephan Bathory (see Election sejm of 1632 aka election of Władysław IV Vasa).--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 23:48, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
I mean that Free election is too general and should be expanded with informations like this event.

Still this article is poor and wrong, i don`t know what has to do with it Lublin Union, nationality of Gdańsk citizens and what does mean: "Being in a relationship with the Polish Crown since 1454, the city had to take sides when in the 1570s, free elections of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth kings took place." ? Which relation? And since when city had to take a side in elections? Did Sigismund Augustus not confirmed this city privilaged position(citation needed), or just signed Karnkowski Statutes? Cesarians illegaly "elected" Emperor, this should be noted, as well as thier opponents election of a "Piast"-Anna Jagiello (not Stefan!). Gdańsk fleet assault on Elbing, Hungarian relief and note of Elbing burgers to the King are worth to mention too (if it`s important, we can also add: "Elbing hardly had a Pole inside its walls", but what for?). Could be referrenced somehow date of Stefans abolishion of Karnkowski Statutes? Besides, i don`t thhink that restrictions is fortunate word, or if it goes for imposed banition, it should be mentioned earlier in this text. Gdańsk fought just for preferential economic position, not against restrictions, neither nationality had anything to do in this matter. And why there`s not even word about King swearing in all of Prussia Royale and Ducale rights, it should be noted that Gdansk was exception.
Don`t get me wrong, i don`t want any fights, and before i`ll make that edits i wish to know if it will not be reversed, especially that sentencee about Gdańsk nationality in my opinion is less than unnecessary and has completly nothing to do with this subject. I don`t want to abuse anyone, but it looks like someone needs to underline this fact (which i`m not disputeing!), while it`s just off-topic and should be deleted. Gruß Mikołajski (talk) 14:48, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

I think I agree with most of your points there. Please expand the article accordingly.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 15:57, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Ok then, article is rewritten, well referrenced (some are in Polish, but are also reliable sources) and if my English is lacking somewhere, please fix it up instead of reverseing whole edit. I hope it`s neutral, if someone thinks another, than we can discuss here in which point it isn`t. Mikołajski (talk) 22:00, 8 May 2008 (UTC) And if it goes for elections, its stub should be expanded with notes about every of them, includeing opposition, candidates, fights and rebels like this one. Mikołajski (talk) 22:04, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Sorry Piotrus, but i cannot agree with all of your edits. First of all Henry de Volois didn`t refused the Polish Crown, as well as Emperor Maximillian, even Polish representation to Vatican was imprisoned becouse of it. It`s important to note who crowned Bathory and who was Kuyavian Bishop. I cannot agree on sentence "Bathory decided to lay siege to the city instead of negotiating", as he was recognized by every city with exception of Gdańsk (not without a reason!). Elbing wasn`t blocked immediatelly (that`s why i gave two referrences to march-banition, september-blocade) and the Treaty of Malbork was six days before Gdańsk citizens sweared loyalty to Bathory representants. Best regards. Mikołajski (talk) 00:41, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Then please correct those; I was mostly improving the language - some of what you wrote was confusing, unfortunately. Walezy discarded Polish crown after a short sting as a king. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 00:56, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
I know that my linguistc skills in English are far from perfect, but it doesn`t mean that i cannot impoove en:wikipedia. Walezy didn`t resigned, he was trying to send some governor in exchange of himselve, but Poland & Lithuania didn`t wanted to accept it, it was Pl-Lt who resigned from him, not the opposite way. Mikołajski (talk) 01:38, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Of course. The more you contribute, the better your English will be; I look forward towards your future contribs.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 01:44, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Haha, yeah i hope it too. Nice to hear it, i`m sure that`s not the last stub which i`m contributeing to. Greets. Mikołajski (talk) 02:06, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
