[edit] Horrible
Damn, what a loss. Mr. Lewin, if you're out there in any form, rest in the knowledge that Arab Muslims, after what they did to you and about 3,000 others, will never in your children's or grandchildren's lifetime gather the kind of international political empathy they would need to become a true threat to Israel's existence. As silver linings go, this one shines bright. JDG 23:13, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, indeed. A loss of genius. I am surprised that an Israeli special ops was incapable of disarming those muslim terrorist rats. After all, that's what they are trained to do. -LC

- Sorry for editing your only moderately offensive comment LC, but I am thinking of Lewin's family. Rumors range from the hijackers knowing a special ops guy was on board to him not realizing how many hijackers there were when/if he got involved. --Jaibe 21:07, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] "but this is in dispute"
I deleted the above phrase about Lewin's possible Sept 11 heroics, since a) I have not seen this possibility disputed anywhere b) the fact that the report says he 'may' have been involved already means it isn't certain. I also made a short reference to the fact he is believed to be the first-class passenger reported stabbed on that flight. I decided not to flesh this out at all since that information is already in the flight 11 page, and it is better that this page focusses on his main life achievements. --Jaibe 21:04, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

I've removed parts of this article that were speculation and poorly backed up by an untrustworthy source. I also dispute the facts about Lewin's involvement with the Mossad - that should be backed with information - but since I have no such information at hand I've left it as it was. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Akievsky (talk • contribs) 09:12, 10 December 2006 (UTC).
[edit] more speculation deleted
The below is interesting but unsubtantiated and poorly edited. I reverted back quite a few versions to get the UPI quote back in.--Jaibe 23:02, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- Lewin was killed aboard American Airlines Flight 11 during the September 11, 2001 attacks, allegedly toward the beginning of the hijacking. Lewin was sitting next to one of the hijackers. as growing up in Jerusalem he understood what the hijacker was saying when he was on the phone with his friend, who was hijacking flight 175. they were saying to each other things like "goodbye my friend" and most popular "we are in position and we are ready to kill" one hijacker (the one he was later stabbed by) sat behind him and could tell by his face that he knew what he was saying. he then stabbed him with the box cutter as the other hijackers got into the cockpit.
Oh, and in doing that I also lost this reference. Does anyone know the validity of this web page? Again the info is not substantiated there either, not even the name of the reporter is mentioned, but at least it's well written... --Jaibe 23:02, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
