Danzhu
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dan Zhu was the son of Emperor Yao Di (Tang Yao). His mother was a concubine San Yi.
He was not very intelligent, and spent most his time playing a game called Weiqi (go). Legend has it that when Emperor Yao wanted to replace Yihe (a Tiandi Official, equivalent to a prime minister) Dan Zhu was recommended for the position but Emperor Yao disagreed, stating that Dan was not suitable at anything else other than Weiqi. In anticipation of Dan Zhu's anger, Yao exiled his son Dan Zhu to Yan (present day Zhucheng in Shandong), and appointed his son Shun as his successor.
