Danville Regional Medical Center is a 350 bed hospital located in Danville, Virginia. It was purchased by Lifepoint Hospitals in July 2005. Since that time, the hospital has received a preliminary denial of accreditation. This has led government officials to create a commission of citizens to recommend changes to the hospital. The commission's findings were released July 2, 2007, and hospital officials have pledged to fix the problems cited.
As of August, 2007, JCAHO removed the preliminary denial of accreditation, and DRMC is fully accredited.
