Danuta Gleed Literary Award

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Danuta Gleed Literary Award recognizes a first collection of short fiction by a Canadian author writing in English. The award is presented annually by the Writers' Union of Canada and was endowed by John Gleed in honour of his late wife.

In 2004, the prize purse was raised from $5,000 to $10,000. Two runners-up each receive $500.

The royalties from the sale of Danuta Gleed's short story collection, One of the Chosen, go to the award.
