He started his career early in high school as an apprentice for Renee Salud, a popular fashion designer, where he made sketches for the designer in magazines and learned early on the textures and beauty of Filipino fabrics. He then studied [[[Media:Fine Arts]]] at [[[Media:the Royal and Pontifical University of Santo Tomas major in Advertising Arts]]] in 1991- 1995 where his talents were honed by tutors such as the late [Cenon Rivera], [Ramon Dellosa], [Rhoda Recto] and other noted visual artists and advertising pioneers. During college he worked for [Boy Abunda] under Backroom and did the costumes for their talents and several stage designs for their concerts.

After college he entered the advertising world briefly doing package design KY International and furniture design for an exporting firm for [JC Penney] and Kmart based in Malaysia while at the same time having the time designing gowns and clothes for his friends. He then started his Film and Television career when he was give a break by Regal Films a chance to do art direction for a popular horror film series, ["Shake, Rattle and Roll 6"] under the direction of the late Director [Maurice Carvajal]. Then, [Regal Films] gave him a chance to be a production designer for various films such as ["Huwag Mo Na Itanong"] directed by Anthony Taylor, ["Nakawin mo ang Puso Ko"] directed by [Maning Borlaza]. It was during this time that Viva television noticed his work and he was given a chance to do production design on their television programs. At Viva Tv, Danny Jota did the sets, costumes and look of popular teen program [" T.G.I.S."] and ["Growing Up"] with director [Mark Reyes], DGPI. He also did the magic realism soap program "Ikaw na Sana" directed by [Mac Alejandre] and starred [Angelu de Leon] and [Bobby Andrews]. From then on he was a staple of various programs in different networks from TV Specials and TELESINES of [GMA 7], Talk Shows for [IBC 13], [RPN 9], and[ PTV 4]. At this time his understanding the visual stimulus for people from various backgrounds developed his taste and unique design approach. He moved from TV to Advertising doing sets and art direction for various commercials for [Procter and Gamble], [Smart], various local brands and even executing all the mascot costumes of [Enchanted Kingdom]. His fashion designing took a backseat while his penchant for structures and forms went into full steam by doing sets of various corporate events and launches. His backdrops were a hit with UNIVET, PROCTER AND GAMBLE, SMART, GLOBE, MTV PHILS, VITARICH, HONDA, MOTUL, STREETJEANS, BUNNY JEANS, PLAINS AND PRINTS, CASTROL, SAMSUNG MOBILES, THERMASILK, ABS CBN INTERACTIVE, KAPIHAN SA MANILA HOTEL PRESIDENTIABLE NIGHT 1998, KAPIHAN SA MANILA HOTEL, VARIOUS LOCAL PAGEANTS, VARIOUS CONCERTS SUCH AS REGINE VELASQUEZ live in Makati, ROSSANA ROCES at Music Museum, Animasia COMEDY SHOW with John Lapuz and Ai Ai de las Alas, SOUTH BORDER and others. With his success as a set designer his need to expand and try other avenues of his skills went into play by producing with some friends the 1st and risky ["BORACAY BODY SEARCH 2000] and 2001" that was the first big event in Boracay that helped the island in its tourism efforts. The pageant became what is known now as [Mossimo Bikini Summit]. After this producing and events management stints, he ventured further in producing notable events that required him to direct the shows himself such as the ([SCAPI])Nationals of the Wall Climbing 2003 with Ernie and Jeena Lopez. He also directed the huge fun sports event for a religious organization in Ultra (PSC) 2003 attended by 40,000 people and show lasting up to 18 hours non stop. It was during this period that a short break or breather from his busy life became the priority. In late 2003 he move back to television doing talk shows such as People First IBC 13 hosted by Anthony Pangilinan, Gawad Kalinga IBC 13, Celebrity Dat Com on IBC 13 hosted by Dolly Anne Carvajal and TJ Manotoc. At this stage he was being inspired by works of Budji Layug, Bobby Borja, Bobby Manosa with his frequenty trips on the island of Boracay. He became a consultant for advertising and events at the Pearl of the Pacific Resort Boracay. He was the asked to do creative direction for a noontime show entitled "IT'S CHOWTIME" on IBC 13. Creating a program in a very tight market place. The program evolved from just a noontime show to a program that made a mark in the industry during its airing. "It's Chowime" then became "Chowtime Na!" then "Chowtime Na, Laban Na!" hosted by Marissa Sanchez, Angelika Jones, Bobby Yan, April Boy Regino, Mystica and others giving pure noontime entertainment to the masses lasting from 2003 to 2006. After the noontime show he then created the reality program "Chowtime Conquest" setting a pattern for local talent reality search on TV. As a graphic designer by heart he made several outdoor designs that made a mark on the urban landscape such as [GIBI Shoes], [Calayan Surgi Center], [Hitachi Airconditioners] and other billboards for other brands. His understanding of the needs of clients and their targeted audiences appealed to his various clients. In 2006 he started doing interior design consultancy again making various residential homes and commercial spaces and at present is doing a major hotel project for an international hotel chain and various residential homes. He also ventured into creating the 1st international salon in Boracay [Island Salon Boracay] at the [Pearl of the Pacific Boracay Resort and Spa] as a major partner. Danny is now also into hotel development and management with the opening recently of [Parc Haus Suites Makati], a new condotel development in that city. His unique style and combining commercial understanding and background in different design mediums from film, Tv, advertising, furniture design, set and production design and his interesting life as an artist strengthened his modern perspective of a truly Filipino Global approach in design.
