Daniel Herrera (born October 21, 1984 in Odessa, Texas) is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds. He is a 5 foot 6 left-handed screwball pitcher. (http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080610&content_id=2883458&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb)
On December 21, 2007, Herrera was traded by the Texas Rangers along with Edinson Volquez to the Cincinnati Reds for Josh Hamilton.
He made his Major League debut on June 3, 2008. Entering the game with men on base and no outs, he pitched one scoreless inning. He struck out two while giving up one walk and no hits.
On June 5, 2008 Herrera was optioned to the Louisville Bats to make room on the roster for Homer Bailey. He was recalled 5 days later.
