Danny Dill
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1975, Danny Dill is one of country music's greatest songsmiths. His 1959 tune, Long Black Veil, written with Marijohn Wilkin, has become a standard and been recorded by many country, folk and pop music musicians. Another notable Dill composition was Bobby Bare's 1963 recording of Detroit City (I Wanna Go Home). His song 'Partners' recorded by Jim Reeves in 1964 is a particular favourite of Michael Malone and the Clare Cowpokes.
