[edit] Career

Gaha released the original version of "Secret Love" in 1992, but it was not a success. In the summer of that year, she signed to Epic Records. The single "Stuck In The Middle" was a major release and was generally promoted well. The radio version is much slower and lighter than the accompanying club remixes by Roger Sanchez and E-Smoove. Despite the club success of "Stuck In The Middle", the single did not achieve a high chart placing. Epic released "Do It For Love" in February 1993, which fared a little better, peaking just outside the UK Top 50. Again, the track came with an extensive batch of reputable club remixes.

In June 1993, Gaha's remixed version of "Secret Love" was released. An instantaneous UK club hit, the track has been a success also in Australia. "Secret Love" was played on KISS FM radio station for the best part of a decade, and was a favourite of listeners.[citation needed] In 2002 an unofficial remix was let loose due to demand from clubbers and distributed to various radio stations and clubs. The remixes came mostly from Dave Lee under his "Joey Negro" guise. This remix of "Secret Love" peaked at #41. The radio version - as was the case for her previous singles - was very different from the club mixes.

The album You Don't Know Me was an entirely different musical direction for Gaha. It comprised covers of her favourite old jazz and blues hits by artists like Ella Fitzgerald, and included songs like "Moon River", "A Ticket, A Tasket", "The Masquerade is Over" and other classics. The record was used to promote her talent, as she was touring Australia with singer John Farnham in 2002. "You Don't Know Me" was well-received by critics and sold respectably in Australia.

Gaha now lives in Los Angeles, California and is looking for distribution for her latest CD Chocolate For Holly. Chocolate For Holly includes a reworked version of "Do It For Love".
