Danish electoral age referendum, 1971

In the Danish electoral age referendum held on September 21, 1971, 47.4 % of eligible voters - or 55.0 % of the 86.2 % turnout - voted in favour of lowering the electoral age in Denmark from 21 to 20 years.^[1] A previous referendum had been unsuccessful in lowering the electoral age to 18 years, which was introduced after a 1978 referendum and which still stands.
