Danish electoral age referendum, 1969

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The June 24, 1969 Danish electoral age referendum was a referendum in which it was proposed that the electoral age in Denmark be lowered from 21 to 18 years. The referendum did not lead to the electoral age being changed, as only 13.6 % of eligible voters (i.e. 21.8 % of the 64.1 % voter turnout) voted in favour.[1]

Two years later, the electoral age was instead lowered to 20 years, and finally, after a 1978 referendum, to 18 years.
