Danish Committee for Aid to Afghan Refugees

Danish Committee for Aid to Afghan Refugees (DACAAR) (Danish: Den danske komité for hjælp til afghanske flygtninge) is a non-governmental organisation which seeks to provide sustainable livelihoods for all Afghans, including external refugees and internally displaced peoples.
It operates both in the development of the national government and on village level. It was founded in 1984 by a consortium of Danish Refugee Council, MS - Danish Association for International Cooperation and Danish People’s Aid. It currently employs more than 1000 people and has programmes in 22 of the 34 Afghan provinces.
DACAAR runs Water & Sanitation and Rural Development programs in Afghanistan's 22 provinces, receiving funds from Danida, EC, ECHO, Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation & Development(MRRD) Afghanistan and various other donors. DACAAR also carried relief activities for Afghan Refugees living in earthquake hit areas of Northern Pakistan.
