Danielle Delaunay joined Hello! Project in 1999 after being discovered by Makoto, fellow Sharan Q bandmate of Tsunku, with Ayaka Kimura, Mika Todd, April Barbaran and Chelsea Ching, forming Coconuts Musume. She graduated in 2001, due to adjustment difficulties (since she spoke no Japanese when Coconuts Musume was formed) and went on to pursue a theatre career in Hertfordshire, England.

She formed a band called Delaunay and is actively performing in London, UK.
