Daniel Ziebig (born January 21, 1983 in Elsterwerda) is a German footballer who plays as a left-winger, currently for Energie Cottbus. Ziebig began his career with Dynamo Dresden, making his debut in 2001, when the club was languishing in the Oberliga (IV). He quickly became a key player, as the club managed two promotions in three years, reaching the 2. Bundesliga in 2004. Injury meant he missed most of Dynamo's first season at this level, but he had shown enough promise to attract the interest of Hamburger SV, whom he joined after Dynamo's relegation. In his first six months at Hamburg, Ziebig was a regular in HSV's reserve team, in the Regionalliga (III). He joined 2. Bundesliga side Energie Cottbus on loan in January 2006, and helped them earn promotion to the Bundesliga, before signing a permanent three year contract with the club.
