Daniel Vacek (born April 1, 1971 in Prague) is a former tennis player from the Czech Republic who turned professional in 1990. He represented his native country at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was defeated in the second round. The righthander won 25 career titles in doubles, including the French Open in 1996 and 1997 and the U.S. Open in 1997, all with partner Yevgeny Kafelnikov of Russia. Vacek reached his highest singles ATP-ranking on January 29, 1996, when he became the number 26 of the world. His strength was his serve, and he was solid from the baseline; but sometimes late in matches let close line calls that went against him upset his game.
