Daniel Tucker
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dan Tucker (February 14, 1740 – April 7, 1818) was a planter and ferryman.
He was born in Virginia, but took up residence on the Savannah River in Elbert County, Georgia, in the place called "Point Lookout". He was a soldier during the revolutionary war, a planter and a minister - but his chief claim to lasting fame was that he may have been the subject of the song "Old Dan Tucker" by Daniel D. Emmett.
