Daniel Julez Smith, Sr. (born May 5, 1983 in Houston, Texas) is an American football wide receiver. He was acquired as an undrafted free agent by the Carolina Panthers in 2006 but was later waived by the team on 25 August 2006 [1].

  • Caught 67 passes for 1,001 yards in and seven touchdowns in the 05-06 season.
  • He left Idaho after his junior season.
  • Although Smith missed one game because of a concussion, he still finished second in the WAC in receiving yards per game and 12th nationally.
  • He was third in receptions per game in the conference and 18th nationally.
  • In a game against UNLV on Sept. 10, he set a University of Idaho record for most receiving yards in a game with 269 on 11 catches.
