Daniel Romalotti and Lily Winters

Daniel Romalotti and Lily Winters Romalotti are fictional characters and a couple from the American daytime drama The Young and the Restless. Daniel is portrayed by Michael Graziadei and Lily is portrayed by Christel Khalil. The couple is often referred to by the portmanteau "Daily" (for Daniel and Lily) on internet message boards.

Daniel and Lily became friends when Daniel wandered into the Crimson Lights coffee shop, she saw Daniel and quickly befriended him. The two didn't get romantically involved until Daniel was arrested for vehicular manslaughter. Lily and Daniel didn't get romantically involved until much later. Lily fell for a much older and troubled Kevin Fisher, the two slept together. Lily's parents Neil and Drucilla Winters found out about Lily's tryst with Kevin and filed statutory rape charges against him. Kevin escaped the charges and by this time Lily had contracted an STD, was again at odds with her parents and was nursing some pretty big heartbreak. A lot of the Genoa City residents were angry with Kevin apart from his good friend Daniel. Daniel wanted to help Kevin look like a hero, he did this by hiring this guy Alex to pretend to attack Lily. The plan went horribly wrong and Alex actually did attack Lily
In 2005, On one occasion Daniel went to a party and got drunk, Cassie Newman who had a crush on Daniel decided to take him home and she drove Daniel's car. Cassie who couldn't drive crashed the car and was fighting for her life at the hospital. Daniel on the other hand survived but couldn't remember if he was the one driving. In all of this Daniel and Lily were indeed falling in love. While they were at the Abbott house, Daniel confided in Lily about how scared he was of going to jail & how he wanted to run away to Europe. Lily told Daniel she'd go with him anywhere, touched by this, Daniel kisses Lily. Cassie ended up dying and Daniel was arrested for her death but was later released. When Daniel was being investigated in Cassie's death, he and Lily ran away to Los Angeles. They were caught and in turn of the events Christine Blair was able to prove that Daniel wasn't the one behind the wheel. However, Lily was still in trouble for aiding and abetting a fugitive. In a plea bargain with the judge, Lily's parents agreed to send her to boarding school in New Hampshire to get her away from Daniel. The school was very strict, so Lily and Daniel couldn't communicate at first. With the help of a good friend they communicated with each other.
In 2006, Lily (now played by Davetta Sherwood) ended up coming home from boarding school early because she tricked her parents into thinking she had dumped Daniel by sending him Dear John letter, in reality Daniel didn't know this because Lily's foster brother Devon Hamilton never gave him the real letter Lily sent telling Daniel the first one was fake. They reconciled and the two snuck around and saw each other using Colleen Carlton as a cover up. Lily found out her mother Drucilla Winters had kept her paternity all these years when she over heard Daniel's mother Phyllis Newman threatening to tell Neil Winters he wasn't Lily's father but his brother Malcolm Winters was. Lily was shocked and angry but took advantage of the situation to tell her mother the truth about her relationship with Daniel. When confronting her mother, Lily tried to blackmail her mother to except her relationship with Daniel. Lily became felt guilty about lying to her dad and decided to tell him. Neil's reaction was not surprising, he demanded that she return to boarding school.
In one of their most memorable storylines next to the Daily's involvement in Cassie's death, Daniel and Lily ran away to Las Vegas to get married but since she wasn't about to turn eighteen until a couple of months, she faked her parents' signature on the marriage license. Meanwhile, Neil and Dru were worried that Lily and Daniel might have left the country and hired Paul Williams (The Young and the Restless)to track them. Neil then went to Daniel's mom Phyllis Newman to ask if Daniel had left the country with his daughter. Phyllis told Neil that Daniel couldn't have left the country because he's passport was still in her room.
Paul tracked Daily in Las Vegas and then brought them back to Genoa City. Neil, Dru and Phyllis were all very upset of what Daily did but all acknowledged that the two were married and their was nothing they could do about it. Daniel and Lily moved out of their parents houses and with the kindness of Daniel's former stepfather Jack Abbott (The Young and the Restless) they moved into the old Abbott pool house. Daniel got a job at Newman Enterprises as a mail deliverer, while Lily got a job as salesperson at Lauren Fenmore Baldwin's Jabot Boutique. Daniel and Lily's happiness later faded when Alex came back to town to blackmail Kevin and Daniel about their involvement in Lily's drugging two years ago. Daniel later confessed to Lily about his involvement in her drugging, Lily angry and upset moved out of their home and back into her parents' home. Neil suggested that Lily get an annulment from Daniel but Lily became angry with her father. Lily and Daniel became close and eventually worked out their problems. A bunch of problems followed like when Carmen Mesta a woman who had an emotional affair with Neil was found murdered at a new club Neil opened. Lily's mother Dru was later accused of murder. Lily's foster now adopted brother Devon Hamilton was diagnosed with Meningitis, then lost his hearing ability and on top of that he was also accused of Carmen's murder. It was later revealed to be Jana Hawkes who killed Carmen.
In 2007, Another tragedy struck when Lily's mother Drucilla Winters while on location for a photo shoot, along with Sharon Abbott, fell off a cliff during an argument with Phyllis. Lily then found out that the search and rescue team had found Dru's jacket floating past the falls. The Police changed the mission to a recovery operation to find Dru's body. Lily was devastated and blamed Phyllis for her mother's death.
Daniel then turned to pornography, he became addicted and neglected his marriage to Lily. Lily then found out about his addiction and went undercover as someone flirting with Daniel on line and he told her he was unattached. The couple underwent counseling but after Daniel along with Amber Moore and Kevin found a dead body with 700,000 dollars in a bag beside it. They buried the money and disposed of the body. When Lily found out about this and on top of the porn, she divorced Daniel. It was also revealed that since she forged Malcom's name on the marriage certificate, the whole marriage was invalid. The two talk occasionally, but just as acquaintances.
