Daniel McCoy (1792 - December 26, 1832) was a second generation Pitcairn Islander. He was the son of William McCoy and Teio. One day young Daniel and his best friend Arthur Quintal son of Matthew Quintal swam out to a rock a considerable distance from the shore. There they agreed to seek each other's sister as a wife. And they did, Daniel married Sarah Quintal in 1811 and they had 9 children. 6 sons and 3 daughters. Arthur married Catherine McCoy and they also had 9 children.
