Daniel MacGettigan

Daniel MacGettigan (born 1815 Mevagh, County Donegal; died 1887) [1] was Bishop of Raphoe from 1861 to 1870 and Archbishop of Armagh from 1870 to 1887.[2]
He was educated at Navan and St Patrick's College, Maynooth.[1] As a student he adhered to the Gallican doctrine.[3] He was ordained in 1839 and initially served as parish priest in Ballyshannon.[1]
