Daniel Lapaine (born April 16, 1970) is an Australian actor.
Lapaine was born in Sydney, Australia. He graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 1992 and is perhaps best known for his role as David Van Arckle, the hesitant husband in the 1994 film Muriel's Wedding. He played the part of Timothy Allerton in Agatha Christie's Poirot - Death on the Nile in 2004. Lapaine starred in the television mini-series The 10th Kingdom as Prince Wendell, ruler of the 4th Kingdom. In early 2007, he appeared in a Volkswagen commercial which features the song "The Great Pretender".
He married British actress Fay Ripley in 2001, and together they have a daughter called Parker who was born in 2002. Their second child, a boy named Sonny, was born in October 2006.
